This category covers the conventional hand dryers, jet and blade high speed low energy hand dryers.
The conventional hand dryer uses a heating element and motor fan to blow air onto your hands. They rely on the warm airflow evaporating water from your hands.
The new generation of high speed low energy hand dryers use a much more powerful motor to blow the water from your hands - the concept first developed by Xlerator. Some use a heating element also to aid in drying through evaporation but many do not, either using air at the room temperature or warming it using the heat from the motor or friction at the aperture (Dyson Airblade V).
These high speed low energy hand dryers can be further categorised into jet or blade dryers.
Puff the Magic Dryer was the first hand dryer designed specifically for use in children’s washrooms. The unique design has child-friendly graphics to complement the well-designed washroom environment associated with award winning facilities (see Loo of the year award winners Buttercrane shopping centre). It uses 2 motors to reduce motor noise to produce a high volume of air to dry hands quickly and quietly so there is no discomfort to sensitive little ears whilst reducing the loitering time in the toilet area.
